Indian Pacific delayed into Broken Hill and Adelaide

The Indian Pacific will be arriving into Broken Hill at 10.00am today due to an engine failure on the eastbound journey. The delay will unfortunately also affect the arrival time into Adelaide, which is expected to be at 5.30pm.
 
Guests due to board the train in Broken Hill are asked to be at the station before 10.00am. Those due to board the train in Adelaide are asked to be at the station at 5.30pm for a 6.40pm departure.
 
Great Southern Rail sincerely apologises for any inconvenience caused by these delays. Those affected by the delays are being contacted by our Sales Centre. For the most up to date information on departure and arrival times please contact us on 13 21 47.

Delayed Sydney arrival and departure for the Indian Pacific

Unfortunately the Indian Pacific will be delayed into Sydney today due to an engine failure on its eastbound journey yesterday. The Indian Pacific is expected to arrive into Sydney Central Station at 3.00pm and depart at approximately 6.00pm this evening.
 
Guests due to board the train in Sydney are asked to arrive at the station at 5.00pm.
 
As a result, The Indian Pacific will be delayed into Broken Hill and Adelaide tomorrow. Great Southern Rail will advise expected arrival and departure times as soon as possible.

Indian Pacific delay to affect guests in Adelaide

The Indian Pacific will be arriving into Adelaide at approximately 8.00pm this evening due to an engine problem delaying the train through the Blue Mountains last night.
 
Gold and Platinum Service guests due to board the train in Adelaide are asked to arrive at the station at 5.30pm as Great Southern Rail will be offering alternative dinner arrangements. Red Service guests should be at the station no later than 9.00pm.
 
It is expected that the train will be slightly delayed into Kalgoorlie (time TBC) but will arrive into Perth on time, at 9.10am on Saturday morning.

The Indian Pacific will be arriving into Broken Hill at approximately 12.10pm today (central standard time) due to an engine problem delaying the train through the Blue Mountains last night.
 
Subsequently the Indian Pacific is expected to arrive into Adelaide at approximately 6.00pm this evening. Gold and Platinum Service guests joining the train in Adelaide are asked to arrive at the station at 5.30pm as Great Southern Rail will be offering alternative dinner arrangements. Red Service guests should be at the station no later than 7.30pm.

11 April, 2012 – Freight train derailment diverts the
Indian Pacific to Melbourne

The Indian Pacific will be travelling from Sydney to Adelaide via Melbourne today, 11 April 2012 , due to a freight train derailment east of Broken Hill.
 
Guests due to travel from Sydney to Broken Hill will be offered a full refund on their journey or the option of postponing their travel to a later date. Guests due to begin their journey in Broken Hill will travel to Adelaide via coach.
 
The Indian Pacific is expected to arrive into Adelaide at approximately 7pm on 12 April 2012.

All aboard for a great Aussie adventure!

Guests departing from our rail terminal locations in Perth, Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne, Alice Springs, and Darwin are required to be at their departure terminal no less than 60 minutes before the scheduled departure time. At this time, your reservation is re-confirmed and, if required, your ticket issued and luggage checked in.

Guests can check in two luggage items weighing no more than 20 kilograms per item and not exceeding 180 linear centimetres. Due to space constraints, guests should only take onboard hand luggage required for their rail journey and remaining luggage should be checked in no less than 60 minutes before departure. Please refer to 'What to Pack' for additional information.

All guests departing from rail stations not listed via the link below should be at the station 30 minutes prior to departure. These stations are not manned so staff will assist you with tickets and luggage as the train arrives.
